I claim this land in the name of the Princesses Snickerdoodle and Goober as theirs! (or as long their parents can pay rent on the house) aka MOVING DAY!
After a long extended weekend of mass hurried packing, loading and unloading and down to a trickle speed of unpacking (hey I got struck with the flu and you-can-bite-my-grumpy-prego-bum-because-i'm-sick- virus). Our family finally moved successfully across the Puget Sound. Literally a straight horizontal line from one side to the other. Odd.
All of this could have not been done without the help of our friends. Whom we are forever in debt too (you can't have them, we found them first!) Your help and of course your friendship is and has been deemed forever priceless. To our family who helped feed our friends and gave us a little extra $$ for groceries, because this move came totally unexpected and by surprise. Ps..if you need a Tetris-stacking find-every-nook-and-cranny-fill-this-moving-truck-by-its-rim. We have the person for you but you can't keep her! In anycase, Those who helped out this weekend, Thank you very very much. If you need any help moving in the future, I'll send my husband. If you need cooking, I'll send me. If you need noise and distraction, I'll send the kids and the dog.
As for those who came to our wedding, you might noticed a slight absence in your mailbox, a thank you note for your presence and gifts. Its not that we are not grateful for any of those gifts (which we are, soooo very very very grateful) but ermm.. we've been slightly busy with our ups and downs. I'll give you a list of has happened lately (but to be honest, a list of what hasn't happen would be shorter)
1. B's Pregnancy has been very eventful. She is officially considered high-risk and for awhile could not lift anything heavier than 2lbs and was supposed to be on bed rest for 2 months. Did she listen? no. But having back to back dr. appointments every week and daily monitoring none the less, shes made it out of the high risk zone. The baby has moved up from Placenta danger zone to healthy, however due to her first born being born pre-mature and early, shes' still in the high risk zone. The baby is feistier than ever, loving the beats of Salsa, Cumbia, Cha-Cha and every latin sounding beat of music there is (with the exception of big daddy's voice singing to her, the jury is still out on that one). Expected due date most likely between June 1st and 4th. Ps...It's a girl!!
2. Big Daddy landed a job transfer out of the blue from Bellevue to Bremerton. OUT OF THE BLUE. We totally didn't see this one coming. We took it since moving before the baby was born was much more idealistic than after. After taking several more financial hits (still recovering from the wedding) and emptying out every savings account we had left (sorry Snickerdoodle, Disneyland and a trip out to Grandma's and Grandpa J's in Texas will have to wait a little bit longer) we moved out here. The perks, big daddy will not have too wake up at 4am to get to work, we won't have to drive over 2hrs to pick up Snickerdoodle from her fathers, and well the cost of living is wicked cheaper.
3. We lost wee Maggie. Our Scottish terrier puppy we had received as a wedding gift from my mother. After 2 months living with us, stealing our hearts and love (even mr. p was EVENTUALLY getting used to her) She passed away in B's arms and kissed lovingly as she took her last breath. We miss her completely and still mourn her loss. Please Please, never let your vigil of looking whats on the floor go to past, you never know what a small puppy or kitten will find tasty!
4. Our move. Please Read above.
5. B's job transfer and bumpy road to get here.
6. Our packing for the move.
7. Day to day living.
Ok, well that being said. As much fun as it was to rehash the play by play of this roundtable of fun. This house will not be unpacked on its own! Stay tuned as we post more and more. Hopefully with pics included. Since this a public blog, all of our key players (mainly the girls) have been and will be called by their nicknames, on this post. eventually you will put two and two together soon.
Besos and Hugs to all!

Welcome to the Blogoshpere. Or something. I'm glad your move went off so well. With all that you've got going on it's miraculous that you're even trying to chronicle it. Check us out over at familyallen.blogspot.com
